Did anyone happen to catch Frontline this week? Due to all my fluff television not being so new this week, I turned on PBS. Frontline featured a Chinese artist named Ai Weiwei in a video titled, "Who's Afraid of Ai Weiwei?" He is doing some amazing things, despite his government's protest. One of his biggest projects focused on the corruption in the construction of schools that collapsed in Sichuan during an earthquake. He took it upon himself to put a name to every child that was in that school.
He does not seem to be afraid of his government and continues to speak his mind, despite his entire studio being bulldozed, being beaten up in a hotel room by police, and watched by Big Brother outside his home.
You can follow him on twitter!
Here is a video on one of his displays at The Tate.
